Bo is a 61-year-old who is married with five sons, one daughter, and six grandchildren. Bo is retired from his job as an assistant to the village chief. Now, he takes care of his grandchildren who are all in school. He enjoys listening to the news on the radio in his free time.
Five years ago, Bo developed a cataract in his right eye causing him blurry vision, sensitivity to light, and tearing. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Bo learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for two hours with his son seeking treatment. On June 14th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Bo shared, “I hope I can see clearly after surgery so I can travel places on my own, read, write, and teach my grandchildren well.”
