Dinna is a five-year-old boy from Cambodia. He lives with his mother and his older brother. He doesn’t go to school yet, but he is excited to start soon. He likes to draw pictures and tell jokes at home. He also loves riding his bike outside.
Five months ago, Dinna developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him partial blindness and irritation. When Dinna’s family learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, they traveled for two-and-a-half hours by taxi seeking treatment. On August 7th, doctors will perform lensectomy and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Dinna’s mother said, “I am so thankful we could get this treatment at no cost, so that now my son can see better and go back to playing with his brother and his friends, and see everything when he goes to school.”
