Ousa is a smart boy from Cambodia. He is four years old and is the only child in the family. Ousa’s parents are both teachers. At home, Ousa enjoys watching cartoons on TV.
Two months ago, Ousa developed a chalazion, which is an inflamed cyst, in his left eye, causing him pain, itchiness, and irritation. It is difficult for him to see clearly.
Ousa traveled for a half hour to seek treatment from our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre. On July 6th, surgeons will remove the cyst. After recovery, Ousa’s symptoms should finally improve. CSC is requesting $187 to fund this procedure.
Ousa’s mother shares, “I hope after surgery his eye gets better so I can go to work without worrying so much about my son.”

Ousa underwent eye surgery so he can feel more confident.
Ousa was reluctant to visit a hospital but was very brave during his surgery. He will rest for a few days and his mother will apply eye drops to prevent any infection. Thanks to the successful surgery, Ousa will no longer experience symptoms and his family is happy that he won’t be shy around others because of how his eye looks.
His mother is grateful for the support, “I am so happy Ousa’s eye and vision are improved. His life will be better when he goes to school and learns to read well. Thank you to everyone who helped support his surgery.”
