Bun is a sixth grade student from Cambodia. He has four older sisters. He likes studying mathematics, eating fried vegetables, and playing games with his friends.
Ten years ago, Bun had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in his right ear to perforate. For this reason, Bun experiences itchiness and tinnitus. He cannot hear clearly.
Bun traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On October 16, he will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in his right ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
His mother says, “I hope my son’s operation is a success so he can return to school and hear better.”
