Kalule is a young motorcycle mechanic from western Uganda. He supports both his family and his parents with an average income of $1 per day. Kalule suffered severe pain in his abdomen for 5 days before being diagnosed with a rare disease of necrotizing fasciitis, or flesh eating bacterial disease. This life-threatening disease destroys the deeper layers of skin and tissues covering the muscles very quickly and requires immediate treatment.
Kalule needs surgery to remove the dead tissue from his abdomen, daily wound dressing with Honey gauze, and a broad spectrum of intravenous antibiotics. The last step will be skin grafting to replace the potential loss of half of his abdominal skin. The Kellermann Foundation needs to raise $675 dollars to fund his treatment.
Your donations to Kalule’s treatment will give him the chance to survive this deadly disease and eventually return to work and provide for his family.
