Vochara is a girl from Cambodia. She is eleven years old and enjoys studying Khmer literature, hoping one day to become a teacher. Vochara is one of five siblings, and she enjoys reading books, watching television, and helping her family around the house.
Since she was two years old, Vochara has suffered from a contracture in her right foot, limiting her range of motion and flexibility. The contracture is a result of a poorly administered vaccine injection to her right thigh.
Surgery will help to release the affected tissue in her foot, allowing her to fully extend her leg and foot without limitation. Her procedure is scheduled for July 2 and will cost $497.
