Robert, who is seven years old, is the youngest of three siblings. He and his family live in Kenya, where his father is a farmer, and his mother is a housewife. As Robert grew older, his parents noticed an unusual swelling on his back. The doctors diagnosed Robert with a curvature of the spine and scheduled him for in-situ fusion upper thoracic spine instrumentation surgery on March 20th. This procedure will stop the condition from progressing and enable Robert to walk without pain and discomfort. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is seeking $1,500 to fund Robert's surgery. Robert's mother shared, “I am grateful for what Cure Hospital is doing in partnership with the donors. I am looking forward to a successful surgery and to seeing my son resume a normal life like other children.”

Irene is a 43-year-old mother dedicated and resilient mother from Philippines who diligently cares for her family, despite facing the challenges of stomach pain and financial constraints. Her dedication is evident as she strives to provide for her five children by taking on various chores. Her husband works as a room attendant and is the sole provider of the family. The burden of her health issues not only affects her but also weighs heavily on the concerns of her entire family. Five years ago, Irene began to experience troubling symptoms, including severe stomach and back pain. When she was examined, the attending physician recommended an open cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. If left untreated, her symptoms will continue to worsen and put her at risk for further health complications in the future. After seeking treatment through our medical partner World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), Irene is scheduled to undergo a cholecystectomy on December 8th. A portion of the cost of the procedure is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP and Irene need your help raising the remaining $1,128 to cover the cost of Irene's surgery and care. Irene shared, "I am hoping to be one of the beneficiaries for this surgery. This would be an immense blessing not just for me but also for my family who also suffers greatly from my illness. I would never be able to afford an expensive surgery and so I am very grateful to everyone who will make this possible for me."

Kalar is a 53-year-old woman from Burma. She lives with her mother and daughter in Htantabin Township, Yangon Division village. Kalar used to sell vegetables, but she stopped in October because her condition was worsening. Kalar's mother is a homemaker. Kalar's daughter left school three years ago because she couldn't afford the school fees. Currently, she is working in a restaurant. Their monthly income is not enough for their daily expenses, and they have to borrow money from their friends to make ends meet and pay for basic medical costs. In 2017, Kalar's upper abdomen was in pain, and she went to a hospital in the village. There, she received an ultrasound, and the doctor told her that she had a small stone in her gall bladder and she would need medication to reduce the stone. She felt much better after taking the medication, and she didn't go to any clinic or hospital after that. In October 2023, Kalar's symptoms returned, and she visited the hospital in the town where she received the ultrasound. At the hospital, the doctor confirmed that Kalar had a large gallstone and would require surgery to heal. She could not afford to pay for the surgery, so she received medication and returned home. Her condition gradually got worse. Kalar has not been eating or sleeping well and is in pain. After seeking treatment through our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF), Kalar will be able to undergo gallbladder removal surgery on November 18th. BCMF requests $1,487 to cover Kalar's procedure and care costs. Kalar said, "I was upset because I couldn't work and support my mother and daughter. Now, I am so happy! I want to say thank you to all of the donors for supporting my surgery."

Justine, who is 37 years old, is a married man with three children in primary school. He is a laborer, who works with his wife on peoples’ farms to earn a living and to provide for their children. For over 20 years, Justine has been living with a large tumor located on his left cheek. While it started out small, it has continued to increase in size over the years. While he remains relatively symptom free, Justine is uncomfortable when he is out in public. Justine finally visited a facility for treatment, where a fine needle aspiration was performed, to determine whether or not the growth was malignant. The results indicated that the mass was benign, and doctors scheduled a procedure to excise it. However, as Justine didn't have sufficient funds to cover the costs of his treatment, he turned to herbal medicine for help. This has only worsened the tumor. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is seeking $1,196 to pay for Justine's mass excision, which is scheduled to take place on October 12th, at AIC Kapsowar Hospital. Once the tumor has been removed, Justine's self esteem will be restored, and he will be able to lead a more comfortable life. Justine says: “I have been uncomfortable and without confidence for over twenty years. Please help me so that I may have a normal face and be able to carry out tasks that will help me provide for my family.”

Ah resides in a village in Karen State, Burma alongside his eight-year-old son and elderly mother. Ah is a former carpenter who has been unable to work due to his deteriorating health. During his free time, he enjoys fishing. In 2018, Ah began experiencing severe chest pain and difficulty breathing at times. A medical evaluation, including an echocardiogram, revealed that he has multiple valve defects in his heart. The doctor wants to perform cardiac surgery to replace and repair his heart valves on September 12th. Due to financial difficulties, Ah sought treatment through Watsi's medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF). BCMF is raising $1,500 to support his care. Currently, Ah still has occasional chest pain and difficulty breathing which intensifies with physical activity. He also has a poor appetite, weight loss, and difficulty sleeping at night. Ah said, "I am worried about my son because I am the only one who is taking care of him. Thank you for supporting my treatment. I will never forget you."

Meshack is a six-year-old boy from Kenya. He is the first born in a family of two and is currently in primary school. Meshack's father works as a casual laborer while his mother stays home to take care of Meshack and his sibling. Meshack was born with bilateral genu varus, a condition where his legs bow outward at the knees. It's difficult for him to walk, and he cannot run or play football with his friends. Due to his family's financial constraints, Meshack has never been to any hospital for review. When his family heard about Cure Mobile clinic near their home, they brought Meshack for a consultation. After their visit, Meshack was scheduled for a procedure to correct his genu varus. However, his family needs support funding his treatment Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), can help. On August 16th, Meshack will undergo Bilateral PTO and Medial Plateau Elevation at AMH's care center. After treatment, it will be easier for Meshack to walk and play with his friends. Meshack's father said, “As his father, I would love to see my son walking normally and upright like other children and continuing with his education without interruption.”

Winnie is 43-year-old mother with four children. She is a county-employed teacher who teaches kindergarten, while her husband is an office assistant. Winnie has had swelling in her neck for seven years. She was working normally, but the swelling can cause her to get tired easily and be unable to carry out her duties like before. She began to experience troubling symptoms, including pain at her neck and difficulty sleeping, as she cannot breathe normally because of tightness on her throat area. She was diagnosed with non-toxic multinodular goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse. Our medical partner African Mission Healthcare (AMH) is helping Winnie receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on June 30th, when surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. Winnie is able to contribute $74 and needs help with $936 to fully fund the procedure. Winnie says, "I thought I would receive treatment before school resumes, but things have turned the other way round. I am so discouraged, but I believe all will be well before school resumes. Kindly help me so that I may live just like before."

Kundi is a sweet 5-year-old girl. She is the second-born child in her mother’s family of three children. Kundi was diagnosed with left genu valgus, a condition in which her leg bows so that her knees touch. This condition is typically caused by an excessive accumulation of fluoride in the bones, which often stems from contaminated drinking water. As a result, Kundi has difficulty walking and playing. On December 10th, Kundi will undergo corrective surgery at our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH). Treatment will restore Kundi’s mobility, allowing her to participate in various activities and significantly decrease her risk of future complications. AMH is requesting $880 to fund Kundi’s surgery. Kundi’s mother shared, “We are struggling a lot because we have been moving from one hospital to another seeking treatment for our last born child who has sickle cell. We cannot afford Kundi’s treatment. Please help her; she is struggling a lot in walking.”

Razack is a 1-year-old baby boy and the first child in his small growing family. He's a very charming and friendly little boy. Razack's parents are subsistence farmers who farm maize, sunflower,s and beans. They are not able to afford the medical treatment that Razack needs. Razack has clubfoot of his left foot. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. This causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes. Fortunately, Razack traveled to visit our medical partner's care center, Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre. There, surgeons will perform clubfoot repair surgery on November 18th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $935 to fund Razack's clubfoot repair. After treatment, he will be able to walk easily. Razack’s mother says, “Please help my son get this treatment so he can be able to walk properly. He tries to walk but you can see the difficulty as he is walking.”
