Ivan is a three-year-old boy from the Philippines. He lives with his parents and older sister. During the day, he stays at home with his mother while his father farms and his older sister goes to school. He is very active and loves to play with other kids.
About a year ago, Ivan was diagnosed with a hernia, which has been increasing in size over time. Seeking treatment through our medical partner, International Care Ministries, Ivan is scheduled to undergo hernia repair surgery on June 28. His family is requesting $413 to cover the total cost of their son’s procedure and care.
“All I want for Ivan is for him to be operated on and he will get to be treated with his condition,” says Ivan’s mother. “I want Ivan to have a normal life and to enjoy his childhood.”

Ivan underwent a successful hernia repair surgery.
Ivan underwent a successful herniotomy procedure. He no longer feels uncomfortable and is active again. His parents now have peace of mind knowing that their child is spared from possible complications. Ivan does not require any further treatment.
Shirley, Ivan’s mother, says, “It was a relief that my son’s operation was a success and we did not expect that this will be granted to us. I am positive that he will grow healthier and I will do my best to take good care of him as he grows up.”
