Samuel is a toddler from Haiti. He is an only child and lives with his parents, who are both agricultural workers. Samuel likes drawing and coloring.
Samuel was born with a ventricular septal defect, where a hole exists between the two lower chambers of his heart. Blood leaks through this hole, making him weak and short of breath.
Samuel is scheduled to fly to the Dominican Republic to receive treatment. On May 2nd, he will undergo cardiac surgery, where surgeons will sew a patch over the hole so that blood can no longer leak through it. Another organization is contributing to pay for his surgery.
Samuel’s family needs help to raise $1,500 to fund the costs of laboratory tests, medicines, check-ups, and follow-up appointments. It will also support costs for Samuel’s passport and the travel of a social worker from our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, who will accompany Samuel’s family overseas.
Samuel’s father said, “Our family is very grateful to everyone who is helping to heal our son, and we will pray for everyone!”
