Mansara is a 25-year-old woman from Nepal who has Chronic Osteomyelitis, an infection of the bones in her ankle and foot that prevents her from walking. But there is good news! With surgery and antibiotics, Mansara’s condition can be cured, and she will be able to walk again.
Mansara runs a shop selling biscuits and noodles to try and earn enough money to feed her six-year-old daughter and four-year-old son, but she does not make nearly enough to pay for the medical care she needs. Because of her condition, Mansara’s husband left her for another woman, and she is now struggling as the sole supporter of her family.
