Kroy is a mother of three from Cambodia. She enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio in her free time.
One year ago, Kroy developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her treary eyes, blurred and cloudy vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Kroy learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for six and a half hours seeking treatment. On March 11, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope that after my surgery I am able to return to the pagoda and attend the ceremonies.”

Kroy underwent cataract surgery.
Kroy has returned home after a quick and successful surgery. Kroy’s visual acuity has improved, which will greatly improve her quality of life. She looks forward to being able to go places independently and see her grandchildren’s faces.
She says, “I am so happy that I am now able to see clearly. I will be able to go back to work and be able to go places on my own and not disturb anyone for help.”
