Brighton is a two-year-old boy, living with his parents - who are small scale farmers. They live in their own semi-permanent house with two rooms.
Last year, Brighton developed a mass on the left side of his neck. Over time, the swelling has increased in size. It is also painful to the touch, and affects Brighton’s ability to turn his neck and be active.
Brighton’s parents were concerned, and so they brought Brighton to our medical partner care center, Karoli Lwanga Hospital in Nyakibale, for treatment. As a result, Brighton is now scheduled for surgery to remove the mass on May 17th. His family needs $188 to fund the procedure.
Brighton’s father says: “I know it has been a hardship to us as the parents to take our son to the hospital since we don’t have money. However, having brought him here, we request your support.”
