Bunnarith is a 35-year-old waiter who lives with his mother in Phnom Penh City in Cambodia. Bunnarith is engaged to be married and is excited about the upcoming ceremony. His fiancee works at a local bank. When not waiting tables, Bunnarith enjoys playing football with his friends on a vacant lot near his home.
In April 2022, Bunnarith was involved in a motorcycle collision and fractured his left tibia. He went to a private clinic, where doctors implanted hardware to stabilize the fracture. Now that his bone has healed completely, Bunnarith wants the metal hardware removed to avoid potential health problems and improve his mobility.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On May 5th, Bunnarith will undergo a hardware removal procedure at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre, which will cost $304. This procedure will help Bunnarith walk easily. Hopefully, he will be able to stand for long periods at the restaurant without the ache in his leg he currently experiences. He needs your help to raise the money for his surgery.
Bunnarith said: “I want to start my married life without metal in my leg, so I can be healthy. I hope the wound will heal quickly.”
