Nimol is a truck driver from Cambodia. He likes listening to Khmer pop music and relaxing at home in his spare time.
Six months ago, he accidentally crashed his motorbike into a tractor, causing multiple injuries, including paralysis in his arm. He has been diagnosed with a brachial plexus injury on his right side. The brachial plexus is a nerve network that transmits signals from the spine to the shoulder, arm, and hand. Injuries to this nerve network can result in loss of function and sensation. He can’t use his arm or hand and is unable to work.
Nimol traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On October 16, he will undergo a brachial plexus repair surgery. After recovery, he will regain function in his arm, allowing him to work again. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $637 to fund this procedure.
His mother says, “I hope my son can use his arm again like before the accident.”
