Sen is a mother of nine from Cambodia. She has five sons, four daughters, and eleven grandchildren. She likes to read about Buddha, listen to the monks praying on the radio, and watch Thai TV dramas.
Ten years ago, Sen developed a cataract in each eye, causing her blurred vision, tearing, photophobia, and itching. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sen learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On February 12, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $398 procedure.
She says, “I hope I can see everything clearly again so I can continue my work at home like washing clothes and go outside by myself.”
