Mithona is a monk from Cambodia. His job is to sweep around the pagoda. He studies Buddhism through books and from the senior monks.
Five years ago, he was in a motorbike accident and fractured his femur. He went to the hospital, where the surgeons used a screw and plate to heal the fracture. Now the hardware is causing pain and it’s difficult to walk.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On December 14, Mithona will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $214. This procedure can help him walk and decrease pain.

Mithona underwent hardware removal surgery.
Mithona has returned home after surgery. He worked closely with the physiotherapy team and is on his way to improved function and mobility. His doctor expects good progress when he returns for another follow-up in two weeks.
