Patrick is a two-year-old boy from Tanzania and the youngest in a family of four children. Patrick's parents are small-scale farmers. His father is also a boda boda motorcycle taxi driver to help cover daily expenses. Patrick was born with bilateral clubfoot, a condition where both feet are twisted. Shortly after he was born, Patrick's parents took him to a nearby hospital for medical treatment but were unsuccessful. They were referred to another hospital where Patrick received treatment. Unfortunately, Patrick experienced a relapse and now requires treatment again to prevent his condition from worsening. His mother is worried that his condition will never be corrected. Fortunately, with the help of our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, Patrick will undergo clubfoot correction surgery on August 9th. Patrick's parents are asking for help to raise $341 to fund his medical care. This procedure will allow Patrick to walk, run, and play comfortably. Patrick’s father says: “I hope this time around my son’s legs will be fine for good. We wish for him to grow up to be healthy and strong.”

Sovann is a seven-year-old student from Cambodia. He lives with his parents in Sihanoukville province, near the sea. His father is a taxi driver and his mother is a housewife. Currently in second grade, Sovann dreams of becoming a teacher when he grows up. He loves eating rice with vegetable soup and watching cartoons on his mom's phone. Sovann has clubfoot on his left foot. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. This causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes. Sovann and his family traveled three hours to visit our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC). There, surgeons will perform a tenotomy and casting procedure on October 9th. Sovann's family was able to contribute $100 towards his medical care but needs help raising the remaining $344. After treatment, he will be able to walk more comfortably and with better alignment. Sovann's father said, "I hope that Sovann will be able to walk more easily, and have improved development as he grows."

Chandy lives in Phnom Penh with his wife, two children, and his 76-year-old aunt. He supports his family by selling groceries from a stall outside his home. His wife works in a garment factory and his aunt helps care for the children and grocery business. In his free time, he enjoys growing vegetables and fruits behind his house to provide food for the family. Since he was 5 years old, he has been dealing with a chronic wound from a snake bite on the top of his left foot. Unfortunately, the wound did not heal properly after his initial treatment, leading to a chronic condition in his foot. Over the last three years, the wound has worsened, becoming infected and expanding in size. He now struggles with walking and is worried that the wound will continue to spread, impact his daily life, and eventually lead to a potential amputation. On September 11th, surgeons at our medical partner, the Children's Surgical Centre will conduct a debridement and free flap procedure. Chandy is able to contribute $100 but needs help to raise $891 more to fund his treatment. This procedure will help him remove the infected tissue, promote healing, and improve the function of his foot so he can regain mobility and walk more comfortably. Chandy shared, "After surgery, I hope to return home to work soon without worrying that the wound will spread."
