Atamba is a seven-year-old student from Uganda. He is currently in the third grade and lives with his grandmother, who makes a living through small-scale farming.
Atamba has a visible facial mass which has affected his regular appearance. He has had the mass since birth, and, if he is not treated, the mass will continue to increase in size and may affect his vision. Atamba was diagnosed as having an orbital subdermal cyst, and excision treatment was recommended.
On June 27, Atamba will undergo mass excision surgery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $187 to cover the cost of Atamba’s treatment, surgical materials, medications, and a one-night hospital stay.
“I thank you for the support rendered to my grandson because I was not able to pay for his surgery. May God bless you abundantly, and I hope my grandson will get to study well with the peace of mind,” says Atamba’s grandmother.
