Pisey is a nine-year-old boy and a student in the third grade. He lives in Cambodia with his family, which includes one sister and two brothers. He likes to play football, play games, and read books in his free time.
About three years ago, Pisey developed nasal polyps, noncancerous growths in the lining of his nasal passage on the left side. Because of the polyps, it is difficult for him to breathe and smell.
Pisey’s parents learned about Watsi’s medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), from a relative who had surgery there. Pisey and his mother traveled for three hours by taxi to reach CSC for evaluation and treatment.
On May 9, ear, nose, and throat surgeons at CSC will remove the nasal polyps to help Pisey breathe easily again. CSC requests $224 to pay for the operation, seven nights in the hospital, lab tests, and X-rays.
