Chhlounh is a factory worker from Cambodia. He has two young sons. He likes playing with his children and watching TV.
When he was ten, Chhlounh had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in his left ear to perforate. For this reason, Chhlounh experiences pain, ringing ears, hearing loss, and discharge. He is spending money to continuously treat his ear and needs a better solution. He’s also missing work.
Chhlounh traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On November 13, he will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in his left ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
He says, “I hope I can hear again.”
