Roeun is a 51-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He and his wife have been married for 36 years and have two children together. He also has three grandchildren. His wife and son work alongside him in the fields. In his free time, he takes his grandchildren out to play sports, takes care of his chickens and pigs, and grows vegetable behind his house.
In March 2020, Roeun was in a motor accident that caused a fracture of his right tibia. At first, he visited a traditional Khmer healer, but his fracture has not healed. It is difficult for him to walk without pain and he requires crutches.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On September 8th, Roeun will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $465. This procedure will help him walk easily again.
Roeun said, “I am happy that I have this opportunity for surgery, and that I can soon walk with strength again. I hope I can still work and support my family.”
