Yoeun is a rice farmer from Cambodia. She has three sons, eight daughters, and ten grandchildren. She likes listening to monks praying on the radio in her free time.
Three years, Yoeun developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her photophobia, blurred vision, and irritation. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Yoeun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On July 4, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I want to help to take care my grandchildren and be able to cook well again with my improved vision.”
