Baitwabusa is an 88-year-old farmer from Uganda. He has been living with a painful swelling in his groin for the past two years, making him unable to lift heavy things or stand straight for long.
Baitwabusa sought treatment through our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, where he was diagnosed with a hernia and recommended surgery to alleviate his pain. Baitwabusa is now scheduled to undergo hernia repair surgery on June 21, and is requesting $249 to cover the total cost of his procedure.
Baitwabusa says, “After surgery I will have peace of mind and be able to stand straight again.”

Baitwabusa underwent hernia repair surgery.
Yolamu’s hernia repair was a success. He is no longer at risk of intestinal tissue damage due to hernia incarceration, strangulation, and obstruction. After recovery he will be able to do simple work.
He says, “After recovery I will do simple work around my house and continue working in my banana plantation. I am so grateful and thankful to Watsi. Keep up the spirit of helping. God bless.”
