Blessing is the beautiful one-year-old only child of a newly married couple in Kenya. Blessing’s father is a daily laborer, and her mother stays home to care for her. They are very frugal, and make an effort to save money for the future.
Despite their financial responsibility, Blessing’s parents are now facing the crippling costs of medical care for their daughter. Blessing has an abdominal growth that must be removed through surgery. The growth is painful and makes it difficult for Blessing to breathe. Immediate treatment will alleviate Blessing’s symptoms and reduce the risk of life-threatening developments such as cancer.
AMHF writes, “though it will be life-saving, this surgery is complicated and too expensive for this young family to bear.” They are requesting $1,300 to complete a laparotomy, a surgical procedure which will remove the abdominal growth and “enable Blessing to lead a normal and productive life.” Blessing’s parents “hope to see their baby in great health once again like other children.”
Let’s help Blessing the treatment she needs!
