Kemigisha is a shopkeeper from Uganda. She is married and mother to four children all in primary school. She and her husband operate a shop to be able to meet their family’s needs
3 years ago, Kemigisha began to experience troubling symptoms, including Difficulty swallowing and discomfort. She was diagnosed with a goiter, an abnormal enlargement of the thyroid gland. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Kemigisha receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on October 08 at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $240, and she and her family need help raising money.
Kemigisha says, “I hope to get a relief of my condition after surgery and I continue to operate the shop for survival.”
