Rabecca is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. She is a mother to four children, all delivered via caesarean section. Three of her children attend primary and secondary school, while the youngest remains at home and hasn't started schooling yet. Rabecca has attended antenatal care at Nyakibale Hospital on six occasions during her pregnancy. Due to financial difficulties, Rebecca had to leave school after primary six grade. Consequently, she does not have a formal job. She is involved in cultivating food crops on a small piece of land which is the main means of sustenance. These crops are primarily intended for home consumption, but any surplus is sold to generate income for her family. Her husband works as a construction porter on various building sites. Despite their combined efforts, their incomes are insufficient to cover her medical expenses. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. Rabecca is currently expecting her fifth child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section because of four previous scars. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Rabecca undergo a C-Section on August 8th. This procedure will cost $252, and Rabecca needs your support. Rebecca says, "We survive miraculously by God's mercy, due to our limited family income. This restriction even hinders us from providing basic necessities like medical care. However, I believe that with your support, I will be able to have a successful delivery."

Mitchelle is the only child in her family and always loves being in the company of her mother. Mitchelle met Cure International at their Satellite clinic in Makindu, Kenya, accompanied by her mother, Evelyn, who is a housewife while her father works as a labourer in a company based in Nairobi. Mitchelle was born healthy, however at the age of 2 years, her mother noticed her knees bending towards each other, a condition they refer to as knock knees. She took Mitchelle to a nearby hospital where plaster casts were applied for 2 weeks to check whether the condition would correct, but the condition did not improve and instead deteriorated. Mitchelle is now scheduled to undergo orthopedic surgery to correct her leg deformity. The treatment will impact her because she will be able to walk well and continue her education like other children. Our medical partner African Mission Healthcare is requesting $1,224 to fund orthopedic surgery and care for Mitchelle so that she can grow up active and healthy. Mitchelle's mother said, "My hope and joy would be to see Mitchelle walking well, just like other children, and without any discomfort.”

Brian is a caring, energetic 28-year-old man from southwestern Uganda. He and his wife have two young kids. Their youngest is in nursery school, and their oldest is in primary school class three. Brian's parents passed away, and he could only complete primary school due to a lack of school fees. He shared that he works hard so his children can thrive and complete their education, but his medical condition has limited him. Brian works as a casual laborer, while his wife works as a peasant farmer. For the past six months, Brian has had a left inguinal hernia. This condition causes him discomfort and makes lifting anything heavy or performing strenuous work impossible. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Brian receive treatment. On April 4th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at AMH's care center. Once completed, this procedure will allow him to live more comfortably and confidently. AMH is requesting $230 to fund Brian's surgery. Brian said, "I am the breadwinner of my family. In such poor health, I am unable to do anything by myself. I will need your support to regain my health to continue working hard to sustain my family."
