Nasanga is an 81-year-old woman from Uganda. She is unmarried and has no children, and lives with her nieces and nephews. Nasanga is a farmer, cultivating food to sustain herself and to sell.
Nasanga has experienced swelling and discomfort in her abdomen for several years, limiting her ability to walk and lift objects. She tried applying local herbs, but the swelling continued to increase in size. Eventually, she was diagnosed with a hernia. Doctors have recommended she have surgery, but she does not have the funds. If untreated, her condition can lead to long-term complications.
On October 11, surgeons will perform the surgery Nasanga needs. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, requests $249 for her treatment.
Nasanga says, “My health has been disturbed by this condition and it has affected my daily chores and I am seeking for assistance.” After surgery, she hopes to continue farming.
