Lang is a corn farmer from Cambodia. She is single and lives with her sister. She enjoys listening to social programs and monks praying on the radio.
Ten years ago, Lang developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurred vision, irritation, itchiness, tearing, a clouded lens, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Lang learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On March 7, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope I can see clearly and can recognize faces again. I want to help with work at home like cooking food and cleaning around home. I wish to be able to go to outside by myself again.”
