Innocent is a five-year-old boy from Tanzania. He loves playing football with his friends and wants to become a professional football player when he grows up. Innocent’s father is a farmer and his mother takes their produce to market.
Innocent was born with his right leg slightly bent inward, making it painful and difficult to walk. As he grows older, his legs bend in further and further. This condition is commonly known as knock knees. He now finds it difficult to walk to school and play football with his friends. Surgery has been recommended to correct the issue.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $838 to fund Innocent’s treatment. This will be added to the $45 that Innocent’s family has been able to raise for his treatment. He is scheduled for surgery on October 24 at our medical partner’s care center, Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre.
“I will be happy if I am not in pain anymore,” Innocent says. “Thank you for helping me.”
