Nyaduel is a 51-year-old woman from Ethiopia. She is a refugee and stays at Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya. She is not employed and depends on donations at the refugee camp. She is married and a mother of six children, who are educated by relief agencies at the camp.
Over three years ago, Nyaduel began to experience abdominal and back pain that worsened over time. A family member advised her to seek medical treatment. Nyaduel was diagnosed with cholelithiasis or stones in her gallbladder. If not treated, Nyaduel will continue to have pain and may have complications like bile duct obstruction.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $788 to fund Nyaduel’s surgery. On May 20th, she will undergo gallbladder removal surgery at Nazareth Hospital. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully greatly improve her quality of life.
Nyaduel shared, “I have endured a lot of pain. I hope to get help so that I can be treated and at least continue serving my family, despite where we are.”
