Kyenderesire is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. She is married with nine children.
Five years ago, Kyenderesire began to experience troubling symptoms, including a progressive anterior neck swelling associated with difficulty in breathing and swallowing. She was diagnosed with a multinordular goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Kyenderesire receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on January 2 at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $240, and she and her family need help raising money.
Kyenderesire says, “I hope to continue with cultivation after surgery.”
