Ravy is a 42-year-old driver from Cambodia. There are five members in his family: his wife, his two sons, and one daughter. His wife is a homemaker and his children all study in the local public school. At home, he likes to help his wife with housework or spend time with friends. In 2021, he was in a motorbike collision and fractured his left elbow. He was sent to a private clinic where doctors fixated hardware to heal his fracture. Hardware is usually placed across a joint to allow for proper healing, with the intention of removing the hardware at a later date to restore the motion at the joint. Now, the bone is united and he would like to remove the hardware. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On May 12th, Ravy will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $304. This procedure will help him to increase flexion and strength in his arm. Ravy said: "I hope the hardware will be removed easily. I need to move my arm so I can drive again."

Panha is a 23-year-old young man from Cambodia. He lives in a village with his parents and two siblings. Prior to his injury, Panha worked as a security guard and played soccer with his friends in his free time. In May 2022, Panha was in a motorbike accident that caused a fracture in his right femur. He has visited many clinics and traditional healers since the accident, but the fracture has not healed. It is difficult for him to walk and he is in chronic pain. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On March 22nd, Panha will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will help him walk easily again. Now, Panha and CSC need help raising $483 to help fund his surgery. Panha said, "I hope I can walk again and go back to work to help my family."

Tumaini is an 11-month-old girl, daughter to small-scale subsistence farmers, and sister to eight siblings. She is active and attached to her mother. Her mother enjoys playing with her as she laughs and smiles when spoken to in their native language. Tumaini has clubfoot on both feet, a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. This causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes. Fortunately, Tumaini and her family traveled to visit our medical partner's care center, Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre, where surgeons will perform clubfoot repair surgery on February 24th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $935 to fund Tumaini's clubfoot repair. After treatment, she will be able to walk easily. Tumaini’s mother says, “I was worried when I saw my daughter’s leg. I am hopeful when I heard there is treatment for the condition my child has.”
