Moreen is a businesswoman and mom of three from Uganda. One of her children is a student, while the other two are too young to attend school yet. Moreen achieved a records management certificate but has had difficulty securing a job in her field of expertise. Instead, she has started a business, operating a modest retail shop alongside her husband. Moreen visited our medical partner’s care center because she has been experiencing pins-and-needles sensations, backaches, and a sharp pain that starts from her left side and radiates to her back. She has been having this pain for two years but has been unable to seek medical care due to limited finances. After seeing the doctor, Moreen was diagnosed with a left ovarian mass. She needs to undergo cystectomy treatment to finally heal. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is requesting $220 to fund this surgery. Moreen said, “It will be a blessing when operated on under your support. I believe I will have a successful surgery and be in good health afterward."

In 2018, Jerry noticed a palpable mass under his jaw that kept increasing in size. Although he sought medical attention, Jerry and his family were unable to support his continued need for medications and checkups. Over time, the mass kept growing, causing swelling in his neck. Due to his condition, Jerry was unable to receive job orders and support his family. This has affected his self-esteem and confidence in socializing with other people. Fortunately, a few months ago Jerry was referred by his friend to our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines. Doctors assessed Jerry and diagnosed him with a submandibular gland tumor. This condition usually presents as a painless neck mass but may progress into cancer if not treated immediately. World Surgical Foundation Philippines is helping Jerry access the care he needs and is asking for your help to fund his $1,479 procedure on March 11th. Jerry shared, "I’ve been praying to the Lord to heal my condition. Gladly, he sent you as an answer to my prayers. Pai is a 57-year-old woman from Thailand. She lives with her daughter, son, and two granddaughters on the Thai-Burma border. Pai looks after her two granddaughters during their summer school break. Her daughter is a manager at an onion distribution center, while her son is a maintenance worker at Mae Tao Clinic (MTC). In her free time, she enjoys helping with cooking and cleaning. She also enjoys playing with her granddaughters. Pai started to experience abdominal pain in September 2022. She would also vomit whenever she ate and she could not sleep well due to a feeling of tightness in her abdomen. Doctors want Pai to undergo a CT scan, a procedure in which x-ray images taken from several angles are combined to produce cross-sectional images of the body. This scan will hopefully help doctors diagnose her condition and formulate an appropriate treatment plan. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $414 to cover the cost of Pai's CT scan and care, scheduled for May 11th.
