Kamusiime is a 38-year-old mom-of-3 and farmer from Uganda. She came to Nyakibale Hospital with supra-umbilical pain that has been persistent for 5 years. She reports feeling pain especially if she needs to bend for long hours or lies on her stomach. Kamusiime had never been to the hospital citing financial challenges. However, as her swell worsened and the pain has become more severe, she sought treatment at Nyakibale Hospital.
A scan at the hospital has helped doctors to diagnose a supraumbilical mass that requires excision. She and her husband are both farmers and are unable to find the funds for her surgery. She requests support to pay for her treatment so that she can lead a more comfortable life.
Kamusiime traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On October 13th, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Kamusiime needs help to raise $196 to fund this procedure.
Kamusiime says: “I hope I will recover from this pain I have been having for all this time. I plan to continue with farming after I have fully recovered.”
