Three years ago, Masereka developed a swelling in his left inguinal region. The swelling is painful and keeps growing. Due to the pain, he is unable to lift heavy items or dig. He reported his condition to a health center, which referred him to a hospital. However, he didn’t go to the hospital because he is unable to pay for the treatment. If left untreated, Masereka may suffer many complications.
For $249, Masereka will be able to undergo hernia repair surgery. After surgery and recovery, he hopes to farm and start a retail shop.
