Sovan is a 36-year-old father from Cambodia. He is married and has two sons. He works as a driver and enjoys listening to music on the radio. He also likes to watch boxing on TV at his local coffee shop.
In May 2015, Sovan was in a car accident in which he sustained a fractured left ankle. At the time, he was treated at a local hospital. Recently, however, he has been experiencing swelling, redness, and discomfort from his ankle due to an infection. Seeking treatment, Sovan visited Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre, our medical partner’s care center.
On April 21, Sovan will undergo corrective surgery, where surgeons will remove the hardware from his ankle so he can heal properly. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is asking for $143 to fund Sovan’s hospital, physician, and medical supply costs.
After surgery, Sovan will be able to live comfortably again!

He had physiotherapy at CSC before being discharged. His wounds have healed nicely and he does not experience any pain. Sovan is now able to walk more comfortably than before.
Sovan says, “I’m so happy with the results of the surgery. I feel better after removing the pin. I can walk by myself. Thanks to all of the staff for helping me. I’m going to work to support my family again.”
