Paulina is a delightful two-year-old girl from Sierra Leone. She likes to sing and dance. One of her favorite foods is frankfurter sausages.
Paulina has Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect. There is a hole between two chambers of her heart and a muscular blockage in one of her heart’s valves. Because of her condition, Paulina’s body is deprived of oxygen, and she is sickly and weak. However, when she is in a good mood, she comes to the hospital wearing her pink tutu.
Paulina is flying to the Cayman Islands with our medical partner, Haiti Cardiac Alliance. There, she will receive corrective surgery on November 9, 2016. Her family needs our help to pay her $1,500 travel expenses.
Paulina’s mother says, “I want to say thank you to everyone who is helping Paulina get her surgery!”
