Amos is an eight-month-old baby boy from Kenya. Four months after Amos was born, his mother began to notice that Amos’s head was growing faster than the rest of his body.
After seeking an evaluation through our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, Amos was diagnosed with hydrocephalus - a condition that causes fluid to build up in the brain. The elevated pressure can result in life threatening brain damage, impaired vision, permanent mental disability, and discomfort.
Amos is scheduled to undergo brain surgery on May 11 to drain his skull of the excess fluids. Although his family was able to contribute $31 towards the cost of the procedure, he is still in need of $685 to cover the rest of the expenses.
“Nothing I own can amount to the funds required for this treatment. Please help my grandson get treated,” says Amos’s grandmother.
