Kiiza is a 37-year-old man who is married and with six children. All of his children attend primary school. Kiiza and his wife are small scale farmers who cultivate maize and beans for home consumption and for sale.
In 2016, Kiiza started to feel pain in his right groin region, as well as intermittent headaches, back pain, and stomach problems. He started using local herbs as a treatment, but they did not help him.
He spoke with a friend about his problems, and his friend told him to go to the hospital. At the hospital, Kiiza was diagnosed with hernia in his right groin, and sought treatment through our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation.
Kiiza is scheduled to undergo hernia repair surgery on June 7, and is requesting $249 to cover the total cost of the procedure. After his recovery, Kiiza will be able to resume his farming and daily activities without pain and discomfort.
