Roth is a 72-year-old grandfather from Cambodia. He is married with one son, one daughter, and two grandchildren. Roth was in the military and is now retired. Roth and his wife live with their son who is a mechanic. He enjoys visiting the pagoda with his wife and listening to news on the radio.
Three years ago, Roth developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him blurry vision, itchiness, and tearing. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Roth learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for two hours with his wife seeking treatment. On November 24th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Roth shared, “After all my years of service, I sacrificed my precious life to protect my country, now I need my vision to protect and support my family.”
