Hildah is a 50-year-old farmer. Hildah and her husband, George, have five children. George and Hildah are farmers. They grow food for their own consumption and sell tea for a small income. In her free time, Hildah enjoys conversing with the elders in her village and learning about past times. She also enjoys playing with her five grandchildren and going to church.
For some time, she has been experiencing a lot of abdominal and uterine pain. These symptoms cause her difficulty in daily life. Her doctors have advised a complete hysterectomy, or removal of the uterus. However, with very little income, Hildah cannot afford the cost of treatment. Though she contributed $7, she needs an additional $321 to fund the hysterectomy. She will undergo surgery on January 27.
Hildah says, “Please tell the donors thank you very much for me. It is such a blessing.”
