Aisha is a farmer from Uganda. She is married and a mother of five who are still in school. Her first born is at the university while her last born is in third grade. Aisha’s husband is a taxi operator and she practices small scale farming.
Eight years ago, Aisha began to experience troubling symptoms, including difficulty breathing. She was diagnosed with multinodular goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Aisha receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on December 17th at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $240, and she and her family need help raising money.
Aisha says, “It will be of great relief having my surgery under your support. I truly hope for a successful surgery.”
