Thyda is a two-year-old girl from Cambodia. She is an only child and likes to play with her dolls.
Since she was born, Thyda developed a cataract in each eye, causing her blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Thyda learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On May 2, doctors will perform lensectomy and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $398 procedure.

Thyda underwent cataract surgery.
Thyda has returned home after a successful operation. Post-operative swelling has started to go down, and her vision has improved. As per her doctors instructions, she was given eye drops and an ointment to reduce pain and prevent infection. Surgery will allow her to grow up and go about her daily life with improved vision.
