Akatwijuka is a child from Uganda. He is in second grade and has two siblings. Akatwijuka’s father is a shoe maker, while his mother practices small-scale farming to help meet the needs of their family.
For three years, Akatwijuka has had a hydrocele, which is a swelling in a sensitive area. This causes him discomfort, and if not treated, the hydrocele may continue growing in size. Fortunately, on September 18, he will undergo hydrocele repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $139 to fund Akatwijuka’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Akatwijuka’s father says, “When my son gets relief from this condition, I will have peace of mind and he will be able to continue with schooling without discomfort and pain.”
