Sovann is a 22-year-old college student from Cambodia. He has two brothers and two sisters. His mother is a farmer and his father is a construction worker. Sovann is a first-year university student studying Khmer literature. In his free time, Sovann enjoys reading books, exercising, researching on Google, and meeting up with friends to study and watch comedies on TV.
In September 2019, Sovann was hit by a motorcycle when he was walking on the street. The accident caused a fracture of his left arm. He was taken to a government hospital, where a nail was put in his left forearm to heal the closed fracture. Now, the bone is healed and he needs to have the hardware removed to avoid future complications. If left inside, the hardware can cause Sovann pain and infections in the future.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On November 12th, Sovann will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $230. After the nail is removed, he will be fully recovered from the accident.
Sovann shared, “I hope the hardware will be removed without any problems and I will heal quickly so I can return to my studies.”
