Charles underwent hernia repair surgery.

Charles was eager to undergo surgery for his hernia, but on the day he was scheduled for treatment, his doctors identified a cardiac issue that kept him from treatment that day. His cardiac condition was treated and stabilized and Charles finally was able to undergo a safe hernia repair surgery. He is glad to be able to walk with ease and hopes that with full recovery, he will lead his normal life once again.

Charles had a big smile when he shared, “I thank God surely who has connected me to the donors for this support. I will now get back to doing my usual work on my farm for a good living.”

Charles is married and a father of nine children: four sons and five daughters. He lives in southwestern Uganda and operates a small pub with his wife. Through their small business earnings, they have been able to educate their children. However, since the pandemic lockdown was declared in Uganda, business was disrupted, resulting in even lower income.

For two years, Charles has experienced an inguinal hernia that causes him pain and discomfort. He visited the care center at our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), and doctors recommended hernia repair surgery to address the condition and risk of developing hernia strangulation.

On November 4th, Charles will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Upon recovery, he will be able to live more comfortably and confidently. AMH is requesting $230 to fund Charles’s surgery.

Charles shared, “I hope to receive the operation, recover, and continue with my business to sustain my family.”
