Srey is a 51-year-old mother of eleven from Cambodia. She has six daughters, five sons, eleven grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the radio and watching Khmer dramas in television.
Three months ago, Srey developed glaucoma in right. Glaucoma refers to damage to the eye’s optic nerve, or the nerve connecting the eye to the brain. This causes her pain and vision loss. She is unable to recognize objects and experiences a lot of discomfort.
Srey traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On August 7, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will perform a glaucoma procedure to improve her vision. Now, Srey needs help to raise $259 to fund this procedure.
She says, “I hope that after surgery, I will be able to see clearly and can help take care of my grandchildren and do the housework.”
