Nareth is a 24-year-old farmer from Cambodia. He has three sisters and three brothers. When not working, Nareth likes to fish, pick oranges from his garden, and play volleyball with his friends.
Ten years ago, Nareth developed multiple hard masses on his lower femur and upper tibia of both his legs. Over time, these masses have continuously grown, causing him pain and making it difficult for him to walk. Hearing about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), from his brother, he decided to seek treatment.
Nareth was diagnosed with osteochondroma, an overgrowth of cartilage and bone that happens at the end of the bone near the growth plate. On June 13, Nareth will undergo surgery to remove the osteochondroma masses. CSC is asking for $224 to cover the cost of his treatment.
After his recovery, Nareth will be able to walk easily again!
