Timoth is a 22-year-old man from Nairobi County, Kenya. He has five siblings and lived with his father in Murang'a for a while after his mother passed away. Timoth decided to move to Nairobi due to a difficult home situation, and for the past year, he has been driving a motorcycle as a casual laborer. On June 17th, 2023, Timoth was driving his motorcycle and was hit by another vehicle. He was rushed first to a nearby health center for first aid and then to our medical partner's care center. X-rays of Timoth's leg showed that he had a closed fracture in his left femur. Timoth said that since the accident, he's been experiencing a lot of pain, but he hopes to receive treatment so he can get back to his normal life. Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), can help. On June 22nd, Timoth will undergo a fracture repair procedure called open reduction and internal fixation. This procedure will relieve Timoth of his pain and enable him to return to work. Now, AMH is requesting $1049 to help fund Timoth's procedure. Timoth is subsidizing $148.00 of this amount. Timoth said, "I had many plans for my life. I had hopes that once I completed paying for the Motorbike and it became mine, I would greatly improve my status. Unfortunately, this happened, and now I can only pray for support so that once recovery takes place, I can get back to my normal life"

Evalyn is a 40-year-old calm, confident, and understanding mother. She is married and has one child and has a history of secondary infertility since 2007. Her daughter is studying in high school class one. Evalyn managed to complete high school but couldn't proceed due to lack of school fees. To earn a living, she engages in small-scale farming on her piece of land where she grows food crops for home consumption and often sells the surplus to generate income for the family. Her husband works as a casual laborer. Evalyn sought help after experiencing pain in her right-side region, associated with abnormal bleeding, backache, and lower abdominal pain. She has been experiencing these symptoms for the past 6 years. Due to limited finances, she had never sought medical treatment and had always relied on local herbs. However, she gained no relief from her symptoms. When the symptoms persisted, she came to see a doctor and was diagnosed with a right hemorrhagic (bleeding) ovarian cyst. Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), can help. Evalyn is scheduled to have surgery to remove the cyst on August 8th at AMH's care center. Now, she needs help raising $220 to fund the procedure and her care. Evalyn says, “I think this cyst is even the cause of my infertility, I have great hopes that once operated, I will get well and may even have another child.”

Phalen is a happy 9-year-old 3rd grader who lives with his parents and 3 brothers. His mom stays at home to care for the children, and his father is a police officer. Phalen loves math and basketball. At home, he enjoys playing with his brothers and eating Cambodian fish soup. In the future, he would like to be a police officer, just like his dad. Since the age of three, Phalen has been experiencing a sore throat and difficulty swallowing that has become worse over the last month. Frequent illness has caused him to miss school, and he is not eating as much as he used to due to discomfort. Phalen was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner Children's Surgical Centre (CSC) will help by performing a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Phalen, which is scheduled to take place on July 17th. Surgeons will remove his tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Phalen of his symptoms and helping him live much more comfortably. Phalen's parents are able to contribute $100, and they need help with $265 to fully fund the procedure. He shared, "I hope I can go back to school soon and feel better. I also want to sleep well at night."
