Kesiime is a small scale farmer and a mother of two toddlers. She finished primary school class seven but stopped her education after that due to financial difficulties. Together with her husband and two children, Kesiime’s family lives in a three-room semi-permanent house that they own.
Nine months ago, Kesiime developed a small painless swelling on her right shoulder that has been progressively increasing in size. She is worried the swell will continue increasing in size. Due to this abnormal growth, Kesiime is not able to carry a heavy load with her right hand. She came to our medical partner’s care center, Rushoroza Hospital, for treatment. A mass excision was recommended by the doctors. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH) is requesting $145 to fund this procedure.
Kesiime says, “I finally believe I will be relieved of the fears I have because of the lipoma, anything may come out of it if not treated. I will be able to proceed with farming comfortably.”
